MAD MAX 2 THE LORD HUMUNGUS – FINAL INKS

“There has been too much violence. Too much pain. But I have an honorable compromise. Just walk away. Give me your pump, the oil, the gasoline, and the whole compound, and I’ll spare your lives. Just walk away and we’ll give you a safe passageway in the wastelands. Just walk away and there will be an end to the horror.”  – THE LORD HUMUNGUS

The final inks really brought out all the elements of this pinup, one major fix from the pencils was getting the anatomy on Humungus’s left arm fixed.  So without further fanfare- MAD MAX 2…

Bill Hicks Third Eye – Final Inks

This turned out exactly how I wanted it with minimal shading and bold lights in a field of darkness- the third eye sets off Bill Hicks face and gave it the otherworldly look It needed.

Prying open my third eye. x 10 with Bill Hicks indeed…

And a related bit of music from the Band TOOL about Bill Hicks entitled of course “THIRD EYE” … Listen here.

2015 Convention Posters- Using Manga Studio 5 & GIMP

Just an update on some of the promotional material I have made for my appearances in 2015- as well as the BookFest 2015 poster which I created the artwork for- the library did their own graphic layout on it, but I felt it should be included with this list of material.

MAD MAX 2 THE LORD HUMUNGUS – FINAL PENCILS

“Greetings from The Humungus! The Lord Humungus! The Warrior of the Wasteland! The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla!”

Another great commission for a client- MAD MAX 2- THE ROAD WARRIOR!  I was told to make a pinup based on this movie using any elements from the film I felt would work- So I made a list of my favorites- and came up with  Lord Humungus, Wez, Toadie and the Vehicles that Humungus drives around with the two hostages tied to the front.  After playing with the composition a bit, I used the same tilted background with the vehicle to show that off with Humungus and Wez paired up in the foreground.  I really liked how it turned out and I really am excited to ink this project soon!

Bill Hicks Third Eye – Final Pencils

A small project- but one near and dear to my heart- my rendition of Bill Hicks, but with his 3rd Eye open and watching the mediocre masses while taking a drag on a cigarette… Bill has been an artist that in the last few years has helped me open my 3rd eye to art, creation and what it means to be someone a bit outside of the mainstream. So without further ado… here are some Bill Hicks Quotes to enjoy my new artwork with…..

“Squeegee your third fucking eye!”

“I get a kick out of being an outsider constantly. It allows me to be creative. I don’t like anything in the mainstream and they don’t like me.”

“When did mediocrity and banality become a good image for your children? I want my children to listen to people who fucking rocked! I don’t care if they died in puddles of their own vomit! I want someone who plays from his fucking heart!”

“Watching television is like taking black spray paint to your third eye.”

“Go back to bed, America. Your government has figured out how it all transpired. Go back to bed, America. Your government is in control again. Here. Here’s American Gladiators. Watch this, shut up. Go back to bed, America. Here is American Gladiators. Here is 56 channels of it! Watch these pituitary retards bang their fucking skulls together and congratulate you on living in the land of freedom. Here you go, America! You are free to do what we tell you! You are free to do what we tell you!”

“Mick the Nerd” Collaboration Cover

So I reached out to “Mick the Nerd” from the Howard Stern Show about doing some art with him for his comic project they talked about on the show– you can hear the whole interview here

Mick was really cool about it and we decided to do a joint cover for his comic- he did the right half, and I did his character “Archangel Michael” on the left side.

Hopefully Mick can join me at a show so we can both sign copies of this for the fans- thank you Mick for including me in your comic book projects!

Here is the final collaboration, and his reference art I worked off of.

“Kick Ass” Commission

I was recently alerted that my buddy Elijah needed some very serious surgery that required him to be life-flighted to Geisinger at Danville! When I asked his family if there was anything I could do to help, they told me he wanted me to draw one of the characters from “Kick Ass”. I really wanted to lift his spirits with the artwork he wanted, and it was cool to see his reaction when he got his commission last weekend.

Here is the artwork and handing it off to Elijah!

Mission Accomplished!

Immortan Joe- Mad Max Fury Road – Final Inks

I really made it a point to accent some solid blacks in the background vehicle, the Gigahorse,  and kept the foreground character, Immortan Joe, ghostly white.

So without further delay- my MAD MAX FURY ROAD pinup fully inked!

Immortan Joe- Mad Max Fury Road Pencils

This is the final pencils for my Immortan Joe pinup commission that I am working on.  Since the visual excitement from this character comes from his face, I really decided to make that the focus of the composition.  Also I rotated the horizon line  to force some motion into the artwork by making you tilt your head a bit as a viewer.  Since the Mad Max films are always about the cars, I wanted to get Joe’s car the “Gigahorse” to fill in the background. It made for a really fun image to fill the space in the top third of the composition.
