30 Years Later….

30 Years ago, an 8 year old Jason Lenox in 1983 started making a “Dungeons and Dragons” Fiend Folio Book because his Mom and Dad wouldnt buy him one due to the objectionable content for a child.  In 2013 a much older (30 years) Jason Lenox is going to finish the job he started 30 years ago.  Here is a preview of some of this unseen in forever artwork I snagged out of my attic last December!

Jason Lenox Unleashes Access to his Works in: ‘The Art of Jason Lenox, Collection 1’

State College, PA – (November 27, 2012) — Jason Lenox, a freelance illustrator, has put together his first art book: ‘The Art of Jason Lenox, Collection 1’.   The pieces were selected by Jason Lenox himself and is a representation of the past two years of his artistic journey -combining comic art, concept art, role-playing game art, and pinups. Some of the pages are new pieces created for the book, and some are never before seen personal projects he is now ready to share with fans and collectors for the first time. ‘The Art of Jason Lenox’ is a mix of color and black and white illustrations throughout the 32 pages, quotes from the last year of reviews and press, and a new forward written by author David Paul.  ‘The Art of Jason Lenox, Collection 1’ offers insight and a behind the scenes look into Jason’s creative process with his exotic, sexy and violent projects. The book and Jason’s artwork  are available for purchase online at www.jasonlenox.com/online-store.

Jason Lenox is a freelance artist who resides in State College, Pennsylvania. Lenox specializes in india ink illustrations and sequential artwork. He also creates original comic books with his collaborators at ‘Ugli Studios’- www.thisugli.com. Lenox has done pinups for Viper Comics, The Aizan Demo project, Wyrlwynd’s Kantara Comic and was featured at the 2012 New York Comic Convention with a story published in Gray Haven Publishing’s Dark Anthology. In addition to his comic and freelance illustrations, Lenox currently serves on staff at The Central Pennsylvania Art Alliance, teaching sequential arts. Jason released his first full length color comic book, ‘UGLI Studios Presents #1′ in May of 2012. INDIGLOW- Black Light Contest Painting

This is my finalist entry into the “INDIGLOW” black light art contest sponsored by RED BULL at the Nightclub INDIGO in State College, PA.  The theme was to use a 4×4 gator board and take artwork that we entered on facebook in the preliminary round and make it a “black light” poster.  I entered page 4 of the GREAT VERMIN short story.  This was difficult since I dont paint normally, I dont like large surfaces to work on, and fluorescent paint is almost impossible to work with.  While difficult, I was pleased with the final result- win or lose!  So here are some progress pictures I took of the project from start to finish.    If you want to come out and support me- the final event and party will be at INDIGO Nightclub located 112 West College Avenue, State College, Pennsylvania on April 4th at 9pm.  To vote for my entry, you need to use RED BULL can tabs.  Hope to see you there!

“Dr. Doo Doo Little” Commercial Logo

This is a logo that I did with David Paul doing the custom lettering, and Gary Becks doing the color duties.  The client is in the Clinton County, PA area- and is a business that cleans up dog waste- their name- “Dr. Doo Doo Little”.  My original concept pencils to the client changes in the inks to the final lettered and copyrighted logo.
