“The Gathering” Anthology Short Story Page 1, Pencils

A page of pencil work for a short story I am doing for the Independent Anthology Book : “The Gathering”. I was really pleased with the layout, and the opening eye on panel #3.

Creative Team for Project- Writer: Tauriq Moosa;  Lettering: David Paul.

“Grizelda”- Page 13 Pencils- End of Story

So my “Evil Triumphs over Good with a Satanic Cat Monster” Story with David Paul topped out at a symbolic 13 pages, and with Grizelda getting petted by her consort- the Necromancer.  Just makes you get all warm and fuzzy on the inside!  Now that the pencils are done, I’ll begin the india ink process once I’ve had a chance to look at the pages for a week for corrections and edits- have any edits or things that you think could look better- please email me, or post with comments and thoughts- thanks!

The penultimate page of Grizelda- The Great Beast transforms back into our little cat/narrator, and the Necromancer celebrates his hard fought victory over the forces of “good”- while going a little more casual at the end of the story.

More of what you’ve come to expect of Grizelda.

More Magic Occult Violent Madness from the Dark World of Grizelda!

“Grizelda”- Page 9 Pencils

More from Grizelda- we finally see the familiar form of Grizelda transform into the Great Beast–

More from the violent occult world of “Grizelda”

“Dr. Doo Doo Little” Commercial Logo

This is a logo that I did with David Paul doing the custom lettering, and Gary Becks doing the color duties.  The client is in the Clinton County, PA area- and is a business that cleans up dog waste- their name- “Dr. Doo Doo Little”.  My original concept pencils to the client changes in the inks to the final lettered and copyrighted logo.

More Grizelda Pencils- I used a “Dr. Strange” transition from the flashback sequences back to the current situation in the storyline. I also found some old Glyphs to spell out Grizelda in the semi-cirle of magic symbols around the Cat’s and Great Beast’s Eyes, sort of a hidden message for the “True Believers”.  And of course, more arcane ultra-violence from the Necromancer.

“Grizelda”- Page 6 Pencils & Concept Sketch: “The Great Beast”

More “Grizelda”- it’s over half way pencilled now- and the new concept character David Paul and I have been discussing has come to life- the GREAT BEAST- part H.P. Lovecraft Monster, Part Egyptian Sphinx, Part Death Metal Band- it stands alone as a kick ass creation for this story!  The concept sketch was right on the money!
