Pencil piece for the “Bleeding Hollow” Module from TPK Games- an Orge in mid transformation into a werewolf, neat stuff. I worked on the face being torn in half to full effect with the wolf coming out of the Ogre’s face as his skin tears apart for the wolf under the skin. This is one of the new villains for TPK’s “Bleeding Hollow” module I’m slaving away at! JIRAK THOOL: Werewolf and Evil Druid- some of the features asked for: over sized paws and claws, magic effects, ripped druid robes and a distended over-large jaw. I think I hit it right on. The legs and feet are courtesy of my dog, Loki, who modeled a bit for me to get that “dogged” look I wanted to bring to this fantastic character! Another pencil rough for another commission piece for my friends at TPK Games. This is a landscape concept of a place for executions and general sacrifices to evil gods- you know the stuff they blamed D&D for getting kids to kill themselves in the 80’s? Well nothing beats a demonic ritual and mass execution- note the pools of vomit and excrement under the dead people hanging from the trees- technical accuracy is what makes the “evil” so damn “good”- cheers!!
A pencil rough for a commission piece for my friends at TPK Games. This is a decimated party of Elves that have died in the proces of killing a small army of Gnolls (Dog-Men) and some Ogres. Exciting stuff as I wade back into the awesome world of Tabletop RPG artwork.
I’m working on this pinup right now for uber cool writer Russell Nohelty and his current project Ichabod Jones: Monster Hunter from Viper Comics. “Ichabod” has been getting great reviews from Aint it Cool News , Word of the Nerd, Fellowship of the Geeks, One Geek Nation as well as My Comic Network. I’m really excited to be a small part of this project and to support the project as a pinup artist as it hits the Comic Con circuit this year in Trade Paperback. Could it be that this humble artist will have a piece at the San Diego Comic Con in 2012?
Thanks to all of the awesome backers from the “Through the Eyes of Grizelda” Kickstarter Campaign- we have been able to fund the project to get it completed, and very soon sent to publishers around the United States! A very old and cool friend, Matthew “Donger” Hammer, donated $150 which entitles him to a personal piece of artwork of the characters from the story- so here is the progress picture of this unique piece of artwork I am creating for him!- Amon Kadesh and Grizelda in their younger days- enjoy! I’ll put the inked update on here when it is done.
This is a pencil sketch I did of my Mom and our new Baby- Blaine Walker Lenox at the NICU in Danville, PA after he was born on Friday the 13th (4/13/2012) with a small hole in his left lung- rest assured true believers, he is all healed up and at home as I write this!
The second page of pencil work for a short story I am doing for the Independent Anthology Book : “The Gathering”. Items of note- I was pleasantly surprised with the hand compositions in panels 5 & 6. Also, this page had 8 panels to get all the assigned story in, I thought I was able to convey it pretty well with as much content that had to be compressed into this space. I also included a scan of my thumbnail as well to show the creative process from where I start on complicated pages.

So my “Evil Triumphs over Good with a Satanic Cat Monster” Story with David Paul topped out at a symbolic 13 pages, and with Grizelda getting petted by her consort- the Necromancer. Just makes you get all warm and fuzzy on the inside! Now that the pencils are done, I’ll begin the india ink process once I’ve had a chance to look at the pages for a week for corrections and edits- have any edits or things that you think could look better- please email me, or post with comments and thoughts- thanks!
